Overview[]

The FCC Wireless Telecommunications Bureau handles all FCC domestic wireless telecommunications programs and policies, except those involving satellite communications broadcasting, including licensing, enforcement, and regulatory functions (which are handled by the International Bureau). Wireless communications services include cellular, paging, personal communications services, public safety, and other commercial and private radio services. This bureau also is responsible for implementing the competitive bidding authority for spectrum auctions.
