Definition[]

The WANK/OILZ worm in 1989 "was an automated attack on VMS systems attached to the Internet. It exploited vulnerabilities in widely distributed programs such as the sendmail program."[1]

Overview[]

It was used against NASA in 1989 to protest the Galileo space probe, which was fuelled with radioactive plutonium.
