Veracity

[is t]he degree to which something is correct, accurate, and free of error or distortion, whether by omission or commission.[1]
refers to the completeness and accuracy of the data and relates to the vernacular "garbage-in, garbage-out description for data quality issues in existence for a long time.[2]

Veracity "also encompasses information assurance for the methods through which information was collected. For example, when sensors are used, traceability, calibration, version, sampling, and device configuration are needed."[3]
