The IT Law Wiki

Hello Michael. Welcome to the IT Law Wiki. Please let me know if you need any help developing this wiki. You can also find some tips at Improving your Wikia. Angela (talk) 22:28, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi again. It's great to see this wiki is still going so well. If you're ready for some promotion, the page at Wikia:Spotlights has some tips on best practices. If you feel you've done these, we can add the IT Law Wiki to the Wikia Spotlights area you see on each page. It might help to draw in some new contributors. Angela (talk) 10:50, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Michael, the content on Talk:The IT Law Wiki was added by spam bots. One way that we keep the amount of spam on Wikia low is by ensuring the spam is promtly removed. That's why the page was deleted. The same content has been added across many different wikis. Blanking the page instead of deleting it has a number of disadvantages. One if that it makes the discussion link on the home page appear blue which signals a page exists when in fact there is no content there and nothing except spam in the page history. Another is that Google will index the page if it exists, even if it is blank and there is no useful content for them to index on that spammed page. If readers are browsing for discussions on the wiki, they will see this page listed and have to visit it to find out that there is not really any discussion there. Finally, please could you try to assume good faith when people are helping you out in defending this wiki from spam rather than attempting to block them without discussion? Thanks, Angela (talk) 14:36, October 7, 2009 (UTC)
