The IT Law Wiki

The UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS), funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families was responsible, with the Home Office, for bringing together over 170 organizations and individuals from government, industry, law enforcement, academia and charities, including parenting groups. Its aim was to work in partnership to keep children and young people safe online.

While UKCCIS had no formal power, it was responsible for implementing the recommendations of the 2008 Byron Review (Safer Children in a Digital World) and leading an online child internet safety strategy across government.

The UK Council for Child Internet Safety is now the UK Council for Internet Safety (UKCIS).
