Overview[]
This Communication analyses the current state of play in eGovernment, identifies key issues and barriers, and presents a coherent set of actions that reinforce eGovernment within the eEurope 2005 context.
This Communication signals the importance the European Commission attaches to eGovernment as a means to establish world-class public administrations at all levels in Europe that fully contribute to the Lisbon strategy through new and better public services for citizens and businesses. It calls upon Member States to express political commitment and leadership and to step up efforts with all actors in the private and public sector.
