Telephone bill payment (TBP) services allow customers to pay bills using a telephone to instruct a bank's computer to transfer money from the caller's bank account to the account of a creditor.

Overview[]

A major drawback with TBP service is that the customer has no proof that instructions for payment have been given until a monthly statement is received. This provides the customer's only proof of payment. In case of a dispute, the customer may find it difficult to substantiate its claim.
