A teleconference is

[t]he live exchange of information among persons and machines remote from one another but linked by a telecommunications system. The telecommunications system may support the teleconference by providing audio, video, and data services by one or more means, such as telephone, telegraph, teletype, radio, and television.[1]
a conference between more than two participants located in two or more different places and utilizing telecommunication facilities.[2]
