Survivability is

[t]he ability of a system to remain in operation or existence despite adverse conditions, including natural occurrences, accidental actions, and attacks.[1]
[t]he ability of a computer communication system-based application to satisfy and to continue to satisfy certain critical requirements (for example, specific requirements for security, reliability, real-time responsiveness, and correctness) in the face of adverse conditions.[2]
