The Social Media Roundtable Working Group (SMRWG) was formed by the DHS Office of Policy and Office of Public Affairs (OPA) in 2009. The SMRWG includes representatives from offices throughout the Department of Homeland Security and meets to coordinate DHS social media activities. The Group attempts to grasp the scope and breadth of social media initiatives taking place in DHS and the associated legal, policy, privacy, and security issues.
