A slap fingerprint refers to
“ | [f]ingerprints taken by simultaneously pressing the four fingers of one hand onto a scanner or a fingerprint card. . . . Slaps are known as four finger simultaneous plain impressions.[1] | ” |
Overview[]
"Slap fingerprints have the advantage of enabling much quicker capture of all 10 fingers than individually rolling each finger; however, slaps have the disadvantage of only being plain impressions, whereas rolled fingerprints collect more friction skin data (nail to nail)."[2]
