A sensor network is a network (either wireless, wired or a combination of wireless and wired) of spatially distributed sensors used to monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, vibration, pressure, motion or pollutants, at different locations. The data collected by the sensors is transmitted to one or more central points where it is analyzed.
