Definition

A publisher is an individual or company that publishes books, periodicals, music, or other creative works.

Overview

"The publisher unites all functions under one enterprise: reporting, editing, packaging, and delivering the news to a specific audience."[1]

Business Model

Publishers typically offer a subscription to their content or sell advertising against their content. Both of these models enable a publisher to generate revenue to support their business.
