Overview[]
The Press Law prohibits publishing and broadcasting of information "that incites war against the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam." Additionally, the law broadly prohibits individuals or firms from "distorting history; negating revolutionary achievements; offending the nation and national heroes."
This law updates the 1989 Law on the Press.
