Overview[]
This memorandum requires that federal agencies designate a senior official who has the overall agencywide responsibility for information privacy issues. It further indicated that if the CIO is not designated as responsible for privacy, the agency may designate another senior official (at the Assistant Secretary or equivalent level) with agencywide responsibility for information privacy issues.
