The Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, commonly referred to as the National Security Advisor (NSA), serves as the chief adviser to the President of the United States on national security issues. This person serves on the National Security Council within the Executive Office of the President. The National Security Advisor's office is located in the West Wing of the White House. He or she is supported by a staff that produces research, briefings, and intelligence for the National Security Agency to review and present to the National Security Council and the President.
