Overview[]

The National Respiratory and Enteric Virus Surveillance System is a laboratory-based system that monitors temporal and geographic patterns associated with the detection of respiratory viruses including respiratory synctial virus, human parainfluenza viruses, respiratory and enteric adenoviruses, and rotaviruses. Influenza detections are also reported to the system, but are integrated with CDC influenza surveillance. Users upload data to the system through a Web-based or telephone dial-in system.
