Established in 2002, National ICT Australia (NICTA) is Australia's largest government-funded national institution dedicated to ICT research, research training and commercialisation. It is jointly funded by the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy and the Australian Research Council through the ICT Centre of Excellence Program.
NICTA collaborates with public and private sector research organisations, major companies, small-to-medium size enterprises and public sector agencies. It is lifting Australia's ability to generate breakthrough technologies, grow ICT businesses and spur the development of the digital economy and Australian industries creating jobs and wealth.
