Definitions[]

A map is "a diagrammatic representation of an area of land, sea or sky."

A map is

a two-dimensional visual portrayal of geospatial data. The map is not the data itself."[1]
[a] graphic representation, usually on a plane surface, and at an established scale, of natural or artificial features on the surface of part or whole of the Earth or other planetary body. These features are positioned relative to a coordinate reference system.[2]
