An inter-enterprise subsystem is

“ the portion of the RFID system that connects multiple enterprise subsystems together. The inter-enterprise subsystem consists of network infrastructure, an Object Naming Service, and possibly a discovery service. Inter-enterprise subsystems are most commonly associated with supply chain applications.[1] ”
