Definition[]
An intelligence system is
“ | [a]ny formal or informal system to manage data gathering, to obtain and process the data, to interpret the data, and to provide reasoned judgments to decision makers as a basis for action. The term is not limited to intelligence organizations or services but includes any system, in all its parts, that accomplishes the listed tasks.[1] | ” |
Overview[]
Generally, an intelligence system can be looked at as a cycle. Information is processed through knowledge structures (human or otherwise), which generates intelligence. The primary use of intelligence is in the generation of further information; forming a positive feedback loop.
