Senate Armed Services Committee, Inquiry Into Cyber Intrusions Affecting U.S. Transportation Command Contractors (Sept. 24, 2014) (full-text)
Overview[]
Hackers associated with the Chinese government successfully penetrated the computer systems of U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOM) contractors 20 times in the course of a single year. Chinese hackers tried to get into the systems 50 times. The congressional committee found that only two of the intrusions were detected. It also found that officials were unaware due in large part to unclear requirements and methods for contractors to report breaches and for government agencies to share information.
