Definitions[]

An information attack (IA) is

[a]n activity taken to manipulate or destroy an adversary’s information systems without visibly changing the physical entity within which it resides."[1]
the use of electronic means to gain access to or change information in a targeted information system without necessarily damaging its physical components.[2]
