This Glossary of Terms is provided to establish a common understanding of terms that are essential to building an overall understanding of information management IM and information protection IP. Where possible, industry standards or authoritative sources have been referenced. Terms that do not include a reference have been developed internally by the Information Management Branch. This glossary is updated as required.
