Overview[]
In February 2000, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission charging DoubleClick, Inc. with violations of Section 5 of the FTC Act. Several other groups also filed statements in support of the complaint.
In response to market pressures and pending lawsuits, DoubleClick discontinued its allegedly unfair and deceptive trade practices.
