Definition[]

A Global Command and Control System (GCCS) is

[a] deployable command and control system supporting forces for joint and multinational operations across the range of military operations with compatible, interoperable, and integrated communications systems.[1]

Overview[]

"GCCS is composed of several mission applications built to a single, common operating environment and networked to support the sharing, displaying, and passing of information and databases. Essentially it is a joint planning net for force coordination at the operational level."[2]
