Definition[]

Freedom of assembly is the individual right of individuals to come together and collectively express, promote, pursue and defend their common interests. Freedom of assembly is often used in the context of the right to protest. Freedom of assembly as guaranteed in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution of the United States has been interpreted to mean both the freedom to assemble and the freedom of association.
