Definition[]
A fractional T1 line is a telecommunications line that allows a customer to use only a certain number of the 24 channels available on a T1 line. It supports transmission rates less than 1.544M bps, usually in 64K bps increments (e.g., 64K, 128K, 192K, 256K bps, etc.). The fractional T1 line generally costs only a fraction of the cost of a full T1 line.
