A field-programmable gate array (FPGA) is an integrated circuit designed to be configured by the customer or designer after manufacturing — hence the term "field-programmable." An FPGA contains programmable logic blocks that can be wired in different configurations. These blocks create a physical array of logic gates that can be used to perform different operations.
