The Federal Technology Service (FTS) (named the Federal Telecommunications Service or Federal Telecommunications System prior to October 1997) is the federal government organization responsible for planning, developing, establishing and managing the FTS program to meet federal requirements for common-user local and long-distance telecommunications services government-wide.
