The White House, Executive Order 13571: Streamlining Service Delivery and Improving Customer Service (Apr. 27, 2011) (full-text).
Overview[]
This memorandum requires executive departments and agencies (agencies) to, among other things, identify ways to use innovative technologies to streamline their delivery of services to lower costs, decrease service delivery times, improve the customer experience, and manage their web operations more efficiently.
Under this Executive Order, the Digital Government Strategy was released in May 2012 with three objectives:
- Enable the American people and an increasingly mobile workforce to access high-quality digital government information and services anywhere, anytime, on any device;
- Ensure that, as the government adjusts to this new digital world, it seizes the opportunity to procure and manage devices, applications, and data in smart, secure, and affordable ways;
- Unlock the power of government data to spur innovation across the Nation and improve the quality of services for the American people.
