House Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties, ECPA Reform and the Revolution in Cloud Computing (2010) (full-text).
Overview[]
This hearing was the third in which this Subcommittee considered the statutory framework Congress established in the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 (ECPA) in light of the enormous technological advances in electronic communications in the 24 years since the ECPA's passage. It explored whether the ECPA still struck the right balance among the interests and needs of law enforcement, industry, and the privacy interests of the American people in the area of cloud computing.
