U.K. Cabinet Office, e-commerce@its.best.uk (A Performance and Innovation Unit Report) (Sept. 1999) (full-text).
Overview[]
The PIU Team identified three areas in the area of e-commerce in which the U.K. needs to make progress. The U.K. needs to facilitate access to the technology and networks, it needs to enhance understanding of the potential of e-commerce and it needs to create an environment where people can have trust in the new medium. There are some things Government can do. For example, ensure that all sections of society have the opportunity to share in the benefits of the e-commerce revolution. It must also give a higher political priority to electronic commerce and ensure that all parts of Government are pulling together effectively to improve the UK's performance.
