Definition[]

Discreet surveillance is

surveillance maintained on a "loose" basis, the prevention of detection being paramount, even to the loss of the subject being tailed. Generally, the guiding rule is to discontinue surveillance rather than risk actions which make the subject aware of the surveillance.[1]
