The White House, Defending America's Cyberspace: National Plan for Information Systems Protection: An Invitation to a Dialogue (Ver. 1.0) (Jan. 2000) (full-text).
Overview[]
This plan, which was created in support of PDD-63, proposed ten programs to aid the federal government in protecting critical U.S. systems and networks. These programs include identifying critical infrastructure [[[asset]]s and vulnerabilities, detecting attacks, sharing attack information, training security specialists, strengthening research and development efforts, and increasing public outreach.
Subsequent versions of the plan were expected to (1) define the roles of industry and of state and local governments working in partnership with the federal government to protect physical and cyber-based infrastructures from deliberate attack and (2) examine the international aspects of critical infrastructure protection.
