A data theme refers to "[e]lectronic records and coordinates for a topic or subject."[1]

Geospatial[]

Data themes

are comprised of one or more sets of geospatial data that have national significance, as established by federal guidance, such as hydrography (i.e., surface water features, such as lakes, ponds, streams, and rivers).[2]

Overview (Geospatial)[]

Themes that are the core group of the most commonly used set of base data are known as framework data, which are (1) geodetic control, (2) orthoimagery, (3) elevation and bathymetry, (4) transportation, (5) hydrography, (6) cadastre, and (7) governmental units.[3]
