Overview[]
This report, required by Section 222 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, discusses DHS Privacy Office activities from April 2003 though June 2004. Among other things, the report describes the establishment of the DHS Privacy Office as well as actions to comply with statutory requirements including efforts to implement the PIA requirement and ensure compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974. The report also describes complaints of privacy violations as required by the Homeland Security Act, including those related to the Computer-Assisted Passenger Prescreening System II (CAPPS II) program, the transfer of passenger name record data from jetBlue to the Department of Defense, and the Multistate Anti-terrorism Information Exchange System program.
