The Cybersecurity Malaysia Malware Research Centre was launched on December 2, 2009. The centre operates a distributed research network for analyzing malware and computer security threats. The centre had also established collaboration with trusted parties and researchers in sharing threat research information.
Other activities at the centre includes:
- Conducting research and development in mitigating malware threats.
- Producing advisories on the latest threats.
- Threat monitoring via the distributed honeynet project.
- Partnership with universities, other CERTs and international organizations.
