The U.K. Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit (CTIRU) provides a national coordinated response to referrals from the public as well as from Government and industry. It also acts as a central, dedicated source of advice for the police service.
Its role is to assess internet content and where it is deemed unlawful have the material removed and coordinate any prosecutions for offences which may have been disclosed.
