Overview[]

ConnectHome is an initiative launched in July 2015 by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that involves communities, the private sector, and the Federal Government. It is designed to expand broadband access to more families across the country. The pilot program launched in 27 cities and one tribal nation and initially reached over 275,000 low-income households, including 200,000 children. It is intended to narrow the digital divide for families with school-age children who live in HUD-assisted housing.
