Definition

A computer system (also called a computing system)

encompasses everything from small handheld devices to Netbooks to corporate data centers to massive server farms that offer cloud computing to the masses.[1]

Today, a typical computer system consists of hardware and software that process data and is likely to include:

Computer systems take many forms, such as laptops, desktops, tower computers, rack-mounted systems, minicom­puters, and mainframe computers. Additional components and peripheral devices include modems, routers, printers, scanners, and docking stations.
