Classified national security information (CNSI) (also known as classified information) is:

| “ | [o]fficial information or material that requires protection in the interests of national security and that is classified for such purpose by appropriate classifying authority in accordance with the provisions of Executive Order (EO) 13526, "Classified National Security Information."[2] | ” |
