Definition[]

Child exploitation generally consists of conduct involving a minor that violates specific criminal provisions of the U.S. Code, or any sexual activity involving a minor for which a person can be charged with a criminal offense.[1] Online, child exploitation includes :[u]sing computers and networks to facilitate the criminal victimization of minors."[2]

Overview[]

Some of these criminal provisions include, for example, causing a minor to engage in a sex act by force; transporting an individual for purposes of prostitution or other criminal sexual activity; or mailing, receiving, and distributing child pornography.
