Overview[]

Each ccTLD (Country Code Top-Level Domain) belongs to a particular country. Each country has the right to decide how the registry for domains within that ccTLD should operate. There are currently 248 ccTLDs.

Functionally, there is no distinction between the gTLDs and the ccTLDs. A domain name registered in a ccTLD provides exactly the same connectivity as a domain name registered in a gTLD.
