The Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI) is an Internet/web infrastructure comprised of the developments of the Canadian federal, provincial, territorial and private sector partners who are creating the technology, standards, access systems and protocols necessary to harmonize all of Canada's geospatial databases, and make them available on the Internet.
The CGDI gives decision makers access to online location-based information that can help them do their jobs better and more efficiently. Often presented in the form of detail-rich digital maps or satellite images, this geographic information enables decision makers to spot trend, evaluate options, understand trade-offs, avert risks, assess emergencies and more.
