Definitions[]
Calibration is
- "[t]he comparison of the accuracy of an instrument's measurements to a known standard."[1]
- "[t]he process of identifying and measuring offsets between the indicated value and the value of a reference standard used as the test object to some determined level of uncertainty.[2]
Overview[]
The standard is considered the reference and the more correct measure. Calibrations should be performed against a specified tolerance.
