Overview[]
C-SPAN (an acronym for Cable Satellite Public Affairs Network) is a private, nonprofit company that provides public access to the political process. It broadcasts gavel-to-gavel coverage of House and Senate floor proceedings. C-SPAN also airs many committee hearings and markups and even an occasional conference committee.
It includes a searchable video library of hearings, floor debate, press conferences, speeches, and other types of news programs and events.
