Biometric identification system

Overview

A biometric identification system is essentially a pattern recognition system. They use acquisition devices such as cameras and scanning devices to capture images, recordings, or measurements of an individual's characteristics and computer hardware and software to extract, encode, store, and compare these characteristics.
