Definition[]

A back link (also known as a backlink, incoming link, inbound link, inlink, and inward link) is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node.

Overview[]

Back links are important because some search engines relate the number and quality of back links to the trust level of that website.
