Overview[]
The Australian Surveying and Land Information Group (AUSLIG) was formed in July 1987 by the merger of the Australian Survey Office and the Division of National Mapping. In 1997 AUSLIG became a management agency, its mapping component in part taken over by Landinfo Pty Ltd. In 2001, AUSLIG and the Australian Geological Survey Organisation merged. AUSLIG became a Division of Geoscience Australia and is now named the National Geographic Information Group.
